Kris - Vocals
Kris Dove – A.K.A. 'Tornado Ali' – is the highly sought after vocalist, front woman and the tour de force for the classic country meets rockabilly band Kris Dove & the Lonesomes. Comfortable on any stage, her powerful voice grabs the audience by the throat and makes you engage the band. Kris has been in the Washington/Baltimore area performing in many successful bands throughout the years. She finally found a home with Kris Dove & the Lonesomes, much to the delight of the crowds.
Keith - Lead Guitar
Keith Dill had a guitar in his hand by the time he was six years old. He learned old time fiddle tunes from the locals of Franklin County, VA, before moving to Richmond and joining Silver Saddle alongside Randy Waller, son of bluegrass legend Charlie Waller. Keith has played alongside, recorded with, and opened for country greats and other diverse acts. He plays electric and acoustic guitars, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, pedal steal, vocals, and drums.
Rob - Upright Bass/Vocals
Rob Gabriel has been a part of the music scene in the Washington, D.C. area for the better part of 25 years. He has played bass professionally with Soul, Motown, R&B, Western Punkabilly, Rockabilly, Country and Blues bands, finally finding a home with the classic country and rockabilly style of Kris Dove & the Lonesomes. Ron - Pedal Steel
Ron McNuss was born and raised in Burke, Virginia and his musical career spans more than twenty five years. Ron has played in country, rock, oldies, classic, southern, rockabilly, blues, and even (shudder) Top 40's bands While he has been known to play lead, rhythm guitar and bass from time to time, his predilection is for the pedal steel guitar keeps him performing a lot in the DC area.
Bobby - Pedal Steel
Bobby Birdsong was DC raised on the rockabilly music of Danny Gatton and Tex Rubinowitz, and started playing rockabilly guitar in local clubs as a teenager. He took up pedal steel after hearing Buck Owens and Merle Haggard's bands perform. Bobby has played in live bands and in studio recordings with dozens of artists and producers. Bobby still loves to stay in touch with the 'HEE HAW' side of things and play traditional classic country and honky tonk with MANY different bands.
Rand - Drums
Rand Gardner grew up in Southern California and has been smacking drums since the age of 5. Rand is in extremely high demand in the Washington and Baltimore areas as a drummer. Rand plays rock 'n' roll, blues, and even jazz and can be seen playing almost every night, but due to his hillbilly ancestry he has a genetic predisposition to perform classic country and rockabilly.
Jimmy - Drums
At many gigs you will see Jimmy Carroll laying down the beat for the Kris Dove & the Lonesomes. Jimmy was drumming in a band with his brother by junior high school and has been playing steadily ever since. He has played in rock, jazz, blues and country bands throughout the years and Jimmy's experience and drum mastery is definitely an add bonus when he's playing with Kris Dove & the Lonesomes.
